OCR PDF: make a scanned PDF searchable
A scanned PDF is pictures of pages, so you can’t search it or copy from it. This reads the text on each page and adds it invisibly behind the page: it looks the same, and now the text works.

Will my PDF look different?
No. The pages stay exactly as they were; the text is added invisibly behind them.
How accurate is it?
Clear printed text is usually read well. Handwriting, very small or faded print, stamps and text at an angle may be misread or missed, so check names and numbers before relying on them.
Which languages can it read?
English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Indian languages are read together with English, as most documents mix the two.
Why does the first run take longer?
Your browser downloads the reading data for the language once (1 to 3 MB) and keeps it, so next time it starts straight away. Each page then takes a few seconds, more on older phones.
Some pages were skipped. Why?
Pages that already have text you can select are left as they were.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. ConvertRight runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed on your own phone or computer and is never sent to a server.
