Which sizes do I need for a favicon?
16 and 32 px are what browsers show in tabs; 48 px is used by Windows. Leave 256 px ticked for a sharp icon on large screens. All of them fit in one file.
My logo isn’t square.
It’s centred on a transparent square, so it isn’t stretched. For the best result, crop it to a square first with Crop & rotate.
Will Windows accept it?
Yes. Each size is stored as PNG inside the .ico, which Windows (Vista and later), macOS and all browsers read.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
