Remove photo metadata (EXIF and location)

Phone photos carry hidden data: where they were taken (GPS), when, and which phone took them. Remove it before you post or send a photo. The picture itself doesn’t change.

அடிக்கடி கேட்கப்படும் கேள்விகள்

What is EXIF data?

Information your camera writes inside the photo: the date and time, the phone or camera model, settings, and often the exact GPS location. Anyone who gets the original file can read it.

Does WhatsApp remove it anyway?

WhatsApp removes it from photos sent the normal way, but not from photos sent as a document, and email, Telegram documents, Google Drive and many websites keep it.

Will the photo lose quality?

No. For JPG, PNG and WebP only the hidden data is cut out; the picture is not saved again. HEIC, AVIF and TIFF photos are saved as high-quality JPG, which leaves the metadata behind.

Why is my photo still the right way up?

The rotation is the one piece we keep. Without it, phone photos would turn sideways. It says nothing about you.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. ConvertRight runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed on your own phone or computer and is never sent to a server.
